If you have a decayed, damaged, or fractured tooth with a diseased root, our dentists might be able to save it from extraction. Root canal therapy involves removing damaged nerve tissues (the "pulp" of the tooth) and any bacteria or toxins. Then we fill the root's canal with manmade material to prevent infection and provide internal strength. The procedure is usually finished with placement of a crown to protect the non-living tooth. Treatment can be competed in one visit and made comfortable with analgesics and/or oral conscious sedation. Most often, there is little to no discomfort with treatment and post op pain medications are rarely needed.
Tooth pain can indicate problems in the root, but not always. Trust Premier Dental Center to detect a diseased tooth root through examination and X-ray imaging. Untreated, your tooth may create a need for extraction later. By saving your tooth with a root canal, you'll keep your original structure, which is always best, and avoid the expense of a replacement tooth.
Creating Smiles, Building Confidence. Health-conscious individuals in Madison, Crockett, and Haywood counties choose Premier Dental Center dentists Dr. Kail, Dr. Leonard, and Dr. Arnold to improve their oral health and beautify their smiles.
