Invisalign

Crooked, crowded, or gapped teeth can not only make you feel self-conscious. They can also increase your risk of oral health issues.

Premier Dental Center offers Invisalign custom aligners for patients who want a discreet, removable alternative to braces.

Virtually Invisible

Because of the hassle that metal braces can cause, many people avoid orthodontics. But Invisalign® has changed that thanks to clear, removable aligners. We provide Invisalign® at our Bells, Jackson, and Milan offices

Fast Results

In a matter of weeks, you will see noticeable results in the appearance and structure of your smile. The look of your smile will continue to improve over the course of your treatment plan, and most patients reach their end results in six to 18 months—far less time than with traditional braces.

Improved Comfort

Metal braces can be hard on your teeth, gums, and lips. Invisalign®, on the other hand, is made of smooth BPA-free plastic that is gentle on the soft tissues of your mouth.

Millions of Patients Have Chosen Invisalign to Straighten Their Smiles

Can Invisalign correct your individual issue?

Invisalign Can Correct:

Underbite

The lower teeth stick out past the upper arch.

Crossbite

An improperly aligned bite can trigger jaw pain, difficulty chewing, and other uncomfortable symptoms.

Overbite

Front teeth that stick out too far past your lower teeth face a higher risk of trauma and can affect your speech.

Open Bite

An open bite can also compromise your ability to chew and speak properly.

Crowded Teeth

Overly crowded teeth can increase your risk of cavities and gum disease because they keep food and tartar trapped between tight spaces.

Gapped Teeth

Invisalign can effectively close wide gaps between teeth.

But are you a good candidate for Invisalign treatment?

Candidates for Clear Aligners Are:

Responsible

Invisalign treatment requires you to wear your clear aligners for 20 to 22 hours each day, so you need to be committed to your treatment plan. Failing to wear your aligners as instructed by our doctors can lengthen your treatment timeline and add to the cost.

Teenagers or Adults

Teenagers and adults are the best candidates for Invisalign because their smiles have largely stopped changing. Meanwhile, the jaws and teeth of young children are constantly developing, making it difficult to create a precise treatment plan.

Treatable Cases

Although Invisalign has successfully corrected many cases of mild to complex misalignment, there are some cases of severe misalignment that can be more effectively treated with traditional orthodontics.

Are clear aligners uncomfortable?

Invisalign Is Designed with Your Comfort in Mind

Compared to metal brackets and wires, clear aligners are incredibly comfortable

Many patients are worried that plastic will feel bulky and obtrusive in their mouths, but this is not the case. Invisalign aligners fit securely over your teeth. In most cases, others will not even notice you are wearing them.

Invisalign uses SmartTrack® aligner material, a patented plastic that is comfortable and durable. This material is specifically designed for Invisalign and gently guides crooked teeth into their proper positions without causing pain or discomfort for the patient.

Sounds great, but can I afford it?

The Cost of Invisalign

Many are surprised to learn that the cost of Invisalign is comparable to that of traditional braces. Like braces, many insurance plans will contribute to at least a portion of the cost. However, it is also important to understand that since this is a custom treatment, the cost will vary from patient to patient, largely based on how long you need Invisalign for. During your consultation, your dentist can further explain the cost variables and help you gain a sense of what you can expect to pay for this treatment.

Cost Factors

Extent of Treatment

The more correction your smile requires, the more you can expect to pay. This is largely due to the need for a greater number of aligner trays and checkups.

Preparation

Your dentist may find that extracting one or more teeth is necessary before you can achieve a properly aligned smile. This procedure will add to the overall cost of Invisalign.

Lost Aligners

One potential downside of any removable orthodontic treatment is that the hardware is easier to misplace. Replacement aligners will cost extra, although some plans, such as Invisalign Teen, include replacements in the total cost of treatment.

Invisalign FAQ

Invisalign sounds great. Why do they even use traditional braces anymore?

Invisalign offers many attractive benefits, but the fact is that metal braces are usually a better means of treating complex cases. Your dentist will recommend braces if he believes they are more likely to provide the results you need.

So daily oral hygiene comes down to just removing the aligner, brushing and flossing, then putting the aligner back in place?

Yes, but you must clean the aligner, too. Each time you brush and floss, use your toothbrush and a little toothpaste to thoroughly scrub all the surfaces of your aligner, then rinse it under lukewarm water.

My friend had to wear a retainer after his braces came off. Will I have to do that after Invisalign, too?

Yes. Maintaining the alignment of your smile will require continuing to wear either a custom retainer or the final aligner used in your Invisalign treatment. You will be advised to wear your retainer during sleep.

More Information About Invisalign

If you’re interested in a straighter smile, but have hesitations about traditional orthodontic appliances, our West Tennessee practice can help! Please contact us to schedule a consultation for Invisalign® today!

Have Confidence in Your Straight Smile

During your consultation with Drs. Steven Kail, Joseph Leonard, or Chris Arnold, 3D images will be taken of your teeth and sent to an Invisalign® laboratory where your customized aligners will be created. A series of clear braces will be made, each slightly different from the preceding aligner so that you can change them approximately every two weeks to promote further tooth movement. Between six and eighteen months later, your smile will be completely rearranged, giving you a new, sophisticated appearance and an opportunity to smile with great confidence.

In discussion with the Invisalign® experts at our Bells, Jackson, and Milan offices, an individualized treatment plan can be tailored to your needs. If you have any questions or concerns about the process, we will be happy to answer them for you and will make sure you are as prepared as possible for the treatment.

Learn More about Invisalign®

Metal braces are often associated with children and teenagers, and don’t offer the most aesthetically pleasing option. As a result of this, many adults in need of orthodontic work avoid treatment because they are unwilling to deal with wires and brackets. Invisalign® is a great way to see the same amazing results without the hassle of metal braces. Fitted specifically to your teeth and monitored by one of our Premier Dental Center doctors, your aligners will painlessly shift your teeth into a straighter, more attractive line. Invisalign can deliver noticeable results in a matter of months and won’t leave your teeth and gums damaged, as abrasive metal appliances sometimes do.
